Civmec – Submarine Rescue Service Facility

LocationKwinana Beach, WA
ClientCivmec
Project CostUnder $1 Million

The Submarine Rescue Service (SRS) facility was developed to enhance support for the Royal Australian Navy’s submarine fleet and strengthen the Australian Marine Complex (AMC) as a world-class centre for maritime capability.

The facility includes:

  • A rapid launch and recovery system.
  • A hyperbaric treatment unit.
  • Dedicated maintenance, training, and testing infrastructure.
  • A seven-metre-deep pool for submarine rescue operations and diver training.

Positioned in close proximity to the AMC’s Common User Facility (CUF), the SRS provides the ability for rapid mobilisation in the event of a disabled submarine in the region.

Key technical aspects of the project involved complex hydraulic systems, a specialised plant room to accommodate essential mechanical services, and integration of advanced marine and safety systems to meet the demanding operational requirements.
