Mike Hopkinson brings 30 years of experience in the Commercial Swimming Pool and Construction Industry, working with some of the largest companies across the UK, USA and Australia. His career includes Project Manager roles with Commercial Aquatics Australia (formerly AVP Commercial Pools) and Senior Project Manager at Aqua Technics Commercial, overseeing a wide range of aquatic facility projects nationwide. Highly regarded in the industry, Mike has managed complex projects valued up to $50 million.
Builders and architects across Australia frequently seek his expertise for challenging and unique aquatic developments. His knowledge spans all facets of commercial pool construction, including concrete and fully tiled pools, as well as stainless steel panel and liner systems. His reputation has also led to partnerships with international aquatic companies such as Myrtha Pools, Skypool, ELBE Pools and CGT Alkor, acting as an authorised distributor for their products in Australia. Mike holds Supervisor Licences in WA, NSW, SA and QLD, with Aquatic Project Solutions licensed in all four states. Known for building strong business relationships, he maintains a trusted network of top-performing trades and services, ensuring consistent quality and reliable project delivery.
Niamh is a highly experienced and professional individual with a wealth of knowledge in the Aquatic Construction Industry. She has a Bachelor of Business (Hon) majoring in Sports Management and has worked within the Aquatic and Leisure Industry for the past 19 Years. She has the unique insight of not only being involved in the Construction of Aquatic Facilities but also in the Operation and Management of Facilities, which gives her the rare ability to foresee potential operational risks and negate these during the design and construction process.
Niamh has been involved in a number of Swimming Pool and Construction projects ranging from Residential to Commercial Projects up to a value of $3m. She has the expertise to manage multiple projects concurrently and has vast experience in all facets of project administration, building codes and Codes of Practice. She has the knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently manage the Project Team and oversee quality planning and control, HSE, documentation and cost control within a project.
Marcel Relouw brings more than 30 years of construction and development experience, with a proven record delivering large-scale, high-profile projects for local government and private sector clients valued up to $100 million. His extensive industry background provides a broad skillset across design, engineering and project management, enabling him to resolve complex issues and anticipate potential challenges with practical, cost-effective solutions. Marcel places strong emphasis on building positive relationships with clients and project partners, resulting in consistently high-quality outcomes. He has an in-depth understanding of the NCC, Building Regulations, Australian Standards and relevant Codes of Practice, underpinning his commitment to “getting it right the first time.”
His leadership style encourages quality from the ground up, sharing his experience and high standards with every project team. With a zero-harm safety focus, Marcel promotes safe work practices across all stages of construction. As a father and grandfather, he values community wellbeing and environmentally responsible development. He is actively involved in pursuing innovative, sustainable construction methods, with his recent projects achieving recyclable waste rates of more than 80 percent.
Matthew is an experienced and hands on Site Supervisor who has been working in the Aquatic Construction Industry for the past 10 years. Prior to this Matthew worked in the Construction Industry installing and constructing Skate Parks, Playgrounds, Splash Pads and other major commercial landscaping projects. Matthew is a Certified ELBE and CGT Vinyl Membrane Installer, Certified SkyPool Installer, Myrtha Pool Installer, High Pressure Water Blaster Operator and holds a Pool Operators Group 2-4 License. He specialises in membrane installation and is the Australasian ELBE and CGT Technical Supervisor.
Matthew has extensive experience overseeing variety of project trades. Due his in depth knowledge of each construction phase he has the ability to foresee future phases and impacts and manage the project schedule accordingly. Matthew is responsible for implementing on site quality procedures and has vast experience with both fully tiled and liner systems. He oversees on site HSE and conducts all site pre-starts, inductions, and toolbox talks. His zero harm approach is adopted by his fellow site staff and he has an impeccable safety record.
