Dalkeith Primary School Renovation

LocationDalkeith WA
ClientProgramme Facility Management and MPS Architects
Project Cost$500k - $1Million

Aquatic Project Solutions were engaged to oversee and facilitate the upgrade of the existing aquatic facility at Dalkeith Primary School. The first stage in this project was to work with the Architect to finalize the design documentation to facilitate the building permit approval and associated required upgrades to suit Department of Health water body guidelines.

The project included the part demolition of the existing pool and constructing a new half pool shell structurally tied to the exiting shell. The pool was increased in depth and length to suit current and future school use. The concourse area was also upgraded to meet current design codes. Provisions were also made for future upgrades to plant room equipment and change room facilities by the school as required. Several challenges were encountered throughout the project including required upgrades to plant room pipe work and electrical items and reduced time frames due to inclement weather and the works being carried out throughout winter to meet the schools re opening date of Term 4 for school swimming lessons and 3rd party leased use of the pool.

APS successfully delivered the project on time and open for the first lessons with no down time or interruption of use to the facility since being open. Scope of works for this project included:
