The Batemans Bay Regional Arts and Aquatic Centre is a new state of the art facility designed by NBRS Architecture. The new development will replace the existing 50-metre outdoor pool at Mackay Park with an indoor multi-pool aquatic centre incorporating a 25m Fina Compliant Pool, Warm Water Programme Pool, Leisure and Tots Pool, complete with four water slides and internal and external water play, as well as meeting spaces, a gymnasium and a 350-seat theatre, all joined by a gallery walk that will house visitor information and a cafe. This is a major project for the client, Eurobodalla Shire Council and NSW Public Works.
APS have been engaged by the Main Contractor, ADCO Constructions, under a Design and Construct Contract for the Aquatic Works.
Collaborating and co-ordinating the industries best and most experienced trades and professionals, APS are responsible for the design, construction and installation of all Structural, Hydraulic, Finishes and Fit-out Elements for the entire project.
The Pool Water Treatment has been expertly designed using water saving Neptune Benson Defender Regenerative Media Filters along with energy efficient VSD pumps and UV Disinfection systems.
The Pools will be finished using Metz Tile system. The tiling works are subject to APS’s stringent QA procedures which provides the client with an extended 10 year warranty.
The internal and external splash pads feature a range WaterPlay Solutions features and activity towers designed to cater for various age groups in the community.
A stand out element of this project is the 4 x Water slides that not only forms part of the Aquatic play space but are also a key architectural focus point.
This project was completed on time and on budget.
