APS was engaged by the Main Contractor, Sarah Constructions, under a Design & Construct Contract for the entire Aquatic Works package. Collaborating with and coordinating the industry’s best and most experienced trades and professionals, APS oversaw the design, construction, and installation of all structural, hydraulic, finishes, and fit-out elements for the entire project.

Throughout delivery, Aquatic Project Solutions fostered a collaborative and transparent working environment with Sarah Constructions and the wider design team. This inclusive approach brought
together the design consultants, APS as the aquatic specialist contractor, and the Main Contractor Sarah Constructions, to refine aspects of the design and improve construction efficiencies, enhancing buildability and coordination across this large and technically complex project.

Aquatic Project Solutions expertise ensured a detailed understanding of scope and a consistent focus on quality and delivery standards throughout the 17-month construction program, from mobilisation to practical completion.

The completed facility, the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre (Kauwingka), has since received three recognitions at the 2026 South Australian Architecture Awards:

  • City of Adelaide Prize for Design Excellence – Winner
